As the team gears up for our Unmanned Systems Canada (USC) competition this May, there are many aspects that we have to prepare for. Most prominent is preparing for our operational demonstration for the judges at the competition, but before the competition, we prepare a Phase I Design Report. This report outlines the entire architecture of the system from a top level standpoint. This includes our three main systems: mechanical, vision system, and autopilot. We describe in detail the design and goals of each system and what we aim to accomplish through each aspect. We were excited to receive news from USC that we placed 3rd out of 16 teams nationwide! The reports are judged by industry experts, and through our 3rd place achievement, it shows how our design compared to the other teams competing this year. This is the first time that Team GUARDIAN has placed in the Phase I part of the USC competition. It's a tremendous feat especially considering the growing number of teams each year! If you are interested you can read our Phase I Design Report attached. Keep checking back to hear more updates leading up to competition!
