Team GUARDIAN is now accepting applicants for the 2014/2015 year! Team GUARDIAN is a multidisciplinary, student led team based out of SFU's Surrey campus that designs and builds unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to compete nationally and internationally. Some of our past achievements include receiving 2nd place in the 2012 Unmanned Systems Canada competition and Honourable Mention in the 2011 Unmanned Systems Canada competition. Although the majority of the team consists of Mechatronic Systems Engineering students, we also have members studying Computer Science, Business, Interactive Arts and Technology, Communications, and more. Any student with a passion to learn or an interest in UAV's can apply! Team GUARDIAN is an excellent opportunity for first year students at SFU. Our supportive team is always willing to teach new members and get everyone involved whether or not you have experience. Team GUARDIAN is a great place to learn and practice technical skills and gain valuable experience that can help with getting co-ops and jobs. Don't have much past experience? Don't worry! Team GUARDIAN is looking for students who show commitment and a willingness to learn. If you have any questions about the team, the plane, or becoming a member, please come to our Info Session on Monday, September 22 at 5:30 pm in room SUR 5240. There will be a quick presentation at 6:00 pm, lots of time to talk to current members and team captains before and after the presentation, and some delicious goodies!
